YOUTH CENTER
ABOUT PRO DEO YOUTH CENTER
Pro Deo Youth Center serves teens 9th-12th grade. Pro Deo's mission is to build relationships to empower teens in a safe and inclusive environment.
MY Role
I played an instrumental role in the communications and marketing efforts for Pro Deo throughout the planning and launch of their capital campaign to construct a new building to better serve at-risk teens in the community. My work has included producing a mini-documentary on a major campaign gift, writing and coordinating press releases, designing the case statement, recreating the logo design, and designing and developing a new-and-improved website. I have also created multiple videos featuring the city’s mayor, the school district’s superintendent, and many other local leaders.

MENTAL HEALTH KC CONFERENCE
ABOUT MHKCC
The Mental Health KC Conference (MHKCC) focuses on bringing mental health awareness and education to anyone in the Kansas City area interested in breaking the stigma of mental health and working toward real change. In addition to community health, mental health, and social service workers, the conference provides vital information to business and human resources leaders and the general public.
MY Role
My role working with the Mental Health KC Conference for two consecutive years was to help prepare and run the Media Room throughout the day of the conference, facilitating speakers in and out of the room on a tight schedule. I set up and manned the second camera and main audio equipment, then edited and produced the final video segments to be distributed to the speakers and their associated organizations for use on websites and social media.
MY WORK
Below is a selection of final video pieces from the conference - including one of Dr. Bruce Perry, a subject matter expert on child maltreatment, children's mental health, and neurodevelopment. Across both years, there were more than 100 completed video segments.

I created several promotional pieces for the event and provided on-site photography and videography on the day of the event.

KC Healthy Kids advances the health and well-being of children and families through community-driven initiatives and advocacy where they live, learn, work and play.
MY Role
My main role working with KC Healthy Kids was to create several videos to capture their "Champions For Health Youth Summit" annual event. One key video highlighted the winning team for the competition hosted by KC Healthy Kids. This included visiting the school and interviewing the kids about their concept for a school garden to grow fruits and vegetables.
My other role was to provide photography and videography on the day of the Youth Summit event, which included interviewing more kids attending the conference as well as faculty from local schools and community leaders about the importance of the event and KC Healthy Kids impact on the community.
